Exciting News: I'm Designing for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!!!

How cool is that? I've been chosen by Lindsay to be on her first Design Team! She has opened an on-line digital stamp store called Lindsay's Stamp Stuff which is loaded with fun digi stamps. I have been creating cards with them, and they are every bit as fun as rubber stamps, and even more fun in that I can make them any size I want, plus I get a perfect image every time! I just love her designs and love the idea of incorporating digital stamps with my rubber and acrylic stamps.

I made this cute card as a thank you for my aunt. I went out of my comfort zone and created a 4x9 card. I found it to be such a fun size to work with! For this one I used a sheet of cream cardstock as the base and covered it with a panel of friends double sided paper. I used a small panel of green (basic grey) and a larger panel of blue (also basic grey) for the bottom. I then cut a small strip of the friends paper and used the reverse side (polka dots) as a kind of "ribbon". I pop dotted on three Prima flowers with brad centers. I printed the PRIMITIVE BIRD stamp from Lindsay's store using adobe photoshop elements, set the width to 3 inches, and printed it on cream cardstock. Next, I matted it with another panel of the green basic grey paper. I colored it with my bic mark-its and attached it to the top of the card. Lastly, I stamped "how sweet you are" with StazOn Jet Black Ink.

Here is a list of the Bic colors I used :

Oceanview Blue to color the bird, Blue Skies Blue to highlight his wing
Adobe Orange for the bird's beak
Lemon Bliss to color the flower and outer edge of the petal
Moonstone Yellow to highlight the flower and finish the petal
Meadow Green for the flower stem
Summer Melon and Margarita Green for the butterfly

I'm off now, to create some more cards and brag about my new status! Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Peep! Peep!

I love this ATC I made for a swap at The Stamp Shack. I used this great "chick with egg" digi stamp that I got at Lindsay's new on line shop. Click HERE for a link to her blog (The Frugal Crafter's Weblog) and once you are there she has a link in the left hand column to her store. I had never used a digi stamp before, but with Lindsay's how to's (also on her blog) it was a snap! I just love the idea of digi stamps to use along with my rubber and acrylic stamps. Digi stamps can be re-sized to be as big or small as you want/need, and they don't take up any room in my already too full studio! Here I used a digi stamp for the main focus and stamped the sentiments with my studio g dollar stamps. I punched one edge with my Martha Stewart punch. The image was colored with Bic Mark-its and a couple of PrismaColor pens.

Here are the Bic colors and what I used them on:

The chick was colored with Lemon Bliss and highlighted with Moonstone Yellow. The beak was colored with Adobe Orange. Next, I used Tranquil Teal and Lime Sorbet on the grass. I outlined the edges of the paper with Polynesian Purple.

I used PrismaColor Light Peach and Brick Beige on the egg.

I've already downloaded Ellie the Elephant, and I can't wait to get her colored and onto a new creation. Hmmm, maybe I can work her into one of the new challenges over at The Stamp Shack this week!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my wedding anniversary. I made this card for my sweet hubby. I stamped my House Mouse image on white cardstock and colored it with my watercolor pencils. I adhered that to a piece of blue bazzill cardstock. Next, I folded an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white cardstock in half. I attached 2 panels of Lovey Dovey Splendid double sided patterned paper to my white card, using both sides. Then I adhered a strip of blue bazzill across the middle and stamped swirls with stamps by studio g. I adhered the House Mouse panel to that and stamped the sentiment (studio g). The inside is a secret, so that's that! I hope he likes it...

Bible Verse Swap at the Stamp Shack

I made this 4x6 card panel for a swap that I participated in at the Stamp Shack, hosted by Awna. We made and swapped 10 panels, and when I get them all back, I'll put them in an Inspirational Album that I can read whenever I need a little "pick me up". I used my cuttlebug embossing folders for this project. I inked up the debossing side of my folder (background, not image) with Pretty Petunia VersaMagic Chalk Ink and put a 3x5 piece of cream cardstock in the inked folder and ran it through the machine. Once it was dry, I attached a Martha Stewart pearl stick-on to the center of one of the embossed flowers. I attached a sheer lavendar ribbon around the bottom 1/3 of the panel. Next, I stamped the verse (Stampedous) onto lavendar Bazzill paper with Jumbo Java VersaMagic Chalk Ink and attached that to the embossed cream panel. Lastly, I attached the cream panel to a 4x6 purple Bazzill paper panel and that's it. Done. Easy and elegant. My kind of project! I just signed up for Awna's next swap, for 10 more Bible Verse panels! I think they will all make a lovely book, which I will post as soon as I have received them! Have a happy day everyone!

Birthday Cards!

These are a couple of birthday cards I made last week. I made the background paper by inking up my Happy Birthday cuttlebug embossing folder with several colors of FiberScraps e-z walnut ink Tintz. I put a piece of white cardstock in the folder and ran it through the cuttlebug. I just used a baby wipe to clean up the folder when I was done. Once the paper was dry, I cut it to size and adhered it to a white card. My best friend, Cindi, was kind enough to let me borrow her Nesties and I cut the ovals and scalloped ovals with those, also using my cuttlebug. The stamps are by studio g, and the ribbon is by offray.
