Create Bliss

Hi Everyone! I was in a crafty mood today and entered a challenge at a site called Paper Hoarders. For the challenge, we had to use lace on a tag, so this is what I made:
I have been wanting to use this dress form from LINDSAY'S STAMP STUFF on a project and today I figured out what I wanted to do with it. I cut out the pieces using my Cricut and SCAL, but if you don't have a Cricut or SCAL you can use the jpeg printables that are included in these sets. I used Distress Inks on the tag, doily sash, measuring tape and the buttons.
I stamped CREATE in the corner (Invoke), embossed the lower edge with a cuttlebug folder then glued all my pieces down with Helmar Acid Free glue and used Liquid Scrap Dots (for dimension) to adhere the buttons. I wrapped the spool with some embroidery thread and attached it to the tag with various ribbons, threads and yarns.
Here are links to the sets I used:

This project was sew much fun to make! That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by, and until next time, happy creating!

Don't Look Now, but I Made a Card!!!!

Yay!!! It is so good to be back. Although I've been having a wonderful summer with my family- We have been very busy traveling, reading, walking, driving (my ds has his permit), and picnic-ing, I have missed my studio and crafting very much. It was nice to be back last night and make this card using a sketch from Meslissa's blog, Tuesday Morning Sketches. She is having a big celebration this week in honor of her 1st anniversary/birthday! She challenged card making readers to use a sketch from her archives, so I chose to use TMS #13 for my card this week, but she added a twist: use something that reminds you of summer! I was in need of a thank you card, so I made this ladybug card using stamps from LINDSAY'S STAMP STUFF. The ladybug is from the DOODLEFLOWERS set, and the sentiment is from the ALL AROUND PHRASES set. (The small stamped flower is studio g.) It was easy to put together using Melissa's sketch. I added Rock Candy Stickles to the daisy centers and bee wings on the pp and then to the ladybug spots and the stamped flower center. Done!
Hop on over to Lindsay's Blog and see what awesome freebie she has today and link up to the rest of her fabulous Design Team to see what they have created! While you are at Melissa's Blog, take up her challenge - Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is sponsoring her challenge this week, so you could win a great freebie there too! Thanks for stopping by, see you SOON!!!

Welcome to My House!

It's Thursday again, and that can only mean one thing...it's digi stamp day!!! This week I'm using the digi stamp that Lindsay (LINDSAY'S STAMP STUFF) designed just for me! I absolutely love it!!!!

I copied a layout designed by Ali Dufty of the UK, found in Stampington's Spring 2007 issue of take ten. I think it works well with my image. I colored the image the same colors as my own house. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder with a panel of color core'dinations paper, sanding off the embossed areas. I also sanded a small area of the patterned paper and stamped "Welcome" (Stampin Up) and with some ribbon and a Prima Flower, I trimmed out my card. Since we will be having company this month, I thought it would be nice to leave the card in a small basket with some bath goodies for our guest.

As you may have guessed, this week is my turn to give away the freebie stamp. Click HERE to download this cute little Primitive House stamp. Check out the whole line of digi stamps at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. Most stamps are only $1.00 each and this month you can get a free stamp with every $5.00 purchase.

Even though I have the freebie this week, stop by the rest of the Design Team's Blogs and leave them some love. I know they've posted some wonderful projects that you won't want to miss!

Happy Stamping Everyone!

Reduce, Reuse, Recyle!

Lindsay challenged us to "go green" this week. I made these two cards using scraps of cardstock, ribbons, a leftover photo, and more pieces of Lindsay's fabulous card kits!

For the photo card, I started with a cream cardstock base and a couple of scraps of rust, black, and cream cardstock. I glued the black scrap in one corner of the base, and the rust scrap in the opposite corner. For the next layer, I glued the swirly paper from Lindsay's Black and White Elegant Card Kit. I trimmed a leftover bird photo and matted that with another scrap of rust cardstock. I punched a small scallop with the last little piece and stamped thanks (inkadinkado) on it. I adhered that to the back of the matted photo, then attached the matted photo to the card. On the inside, I glued a little decorative piece of the card kit in the lower right hand corner.

The second card was made using a leftover scrap of black cardstock, a giant flower, a scrap of ribbon and more of the card kit. I adhered the striped paper to the card front, then glued the ribbon to that. I folded a large flower in half and glued that to the top of the striped paper. I used the "thanks" piece from the school card kit for the flower center and glued a piece of the swirly paper to the inside of the card. Very quick, easy and "green"!

If you are really into going green, shopping at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is a great way to go. "Shop Handmade" has pledged to protect 25 square feet of rainforest for every purchase made at any of the stores in the network to offset the pollution done by shipping and since there is no shipping with the digistuff (it's all emailed) it's like being extra green!

Also, Lindsay is offering a new deal this month: Spend $10 in her shop and get a card kit of your choice - free! She's uploaded a few new kits, so hurry over and check them out. Just click HERE to go directly to her shop.

One last thing: Lindsay is designing a special stamp for each of us on the design team. On Thursdays, one lucky DT member will have her special stamp available to download free for a whole week. Click on the links below to check out the cool Design Team Blogs and see who has the free stamp this week!

Scripture Swap

Wow! It's Thursday again already. I'm feeling better, but it's been crazy trying to catch up from being sick last week! I had a swap to complete for Awna at the Stamp Shack. We are making 4x6 inch flat cards with Bible verses on them. I'm putting mine in an inexpensive 4x6 album to make a nice daily devotional kind of book, along the idea of the ones you can buy in the stores. But this one is extra special because the pages have come to me from friends all around the country. :)

This is a simple project using part of a card kit from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff! She now has 3 fabulous card kits available in her stamp store. I just love them! (I'll list the links at the bottom of this post.)

I started with a 4x6 black panel of cardstock and rounded the corners with my round-it-all. Next, I punched out the file tab using cream cardstock and then punched it with my crop-a-dile. I inked it with gold ink and attached a silver eyelet and gold ribbon to make a clipboard top. Using the Elegant Black and White card kit, I then typed my Bible verse on one of the page pieces and printed it out on cream cardstock. You could easily use a rub on, sticker or hand write a verse on the card as well.

Next, I used versa mark ink and gold embossing powder to stamp/emboss the little heart below the verse (not sure who makes this stamp). I centered and attached the tab to the top of my cream panel (also corner rounded) and then lastly, a prima flower with brad center in the lower right hand corner. Done. Quick and easy!

I actually made 12 of these cards. To make multiples, just crop out the card kit piece you want to use, then paste it onto your new sheet using your photo editing program. I put 4 pieces of this one design on a sheet of cardstock. Next, type and paste your Bible verse onto each card piece, then print out as many as you need.

Here are the links to Lindsay's three card kits, available in her store for just $2 each! Wow! What a deal! And remember, she is still offering her "Spend $5 and get a free stamp" deal through the end of this month, so hurry on over and don't miss out!
